South Range’s celebrations throughout the year for close to two decades have been led by Mike Renier. After 18 years Renier will step down from his role as President of the South Range Celebrations committee. He says it has been a blast to see the town fill up during the Fourth of July. Additionally, he’s also enjoyed seeing people join together at dances and other events like the Valentine’s Day dance or Hunter’s ball.
It’s been a pleasure to get to know all the volunteers and some of them have become good friends of mine. And also to put smiles on the faces of community members during our Valentine’s dances, Hunter’s balls, Oktoberfest, and Fourth of July parade. I think the last couple of years the fireworks have been becoming greater and greater and only becoming better. – Mike Renier, president, South Range Celebrations Committee
The South Range celebrations committee organizes community events in South Range, culminating in a large celebration of the country each Fourth of July. Renier says his favorite part of being involved with celebrations was to see how the community has grown in recent years.
