One person died and a driver was arrested after a single-vehicle rollover crash in Gogebic County Wednesday.
At 11:20 pm on March 26th, Michigan state police troopers, and Gogebic County sheriff’s office deputies were called to the scene of a single-vehicle rollover crash in Marenisco Township on M-64.
Officials determined a vehicle, carrying three individuals, was traveling south on M-64 when the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled over. A 45-year-old Bessemer woman was ejected from the front seat during the incident and was pronounced dead on scene. A 33-year-old Bessemer man, and a 57-year-old Marenisco Township man, were transported to Aspirus Ironwood Hospital for minor injuries sustained in the crash. The 33-year-old Bessemer man was later released from the hospital.
Following an investigation of the crash scene Michigan State Police arrested the driver for operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death. The driver has been lodged in the Gogebic county jail. No other information has been released at this time pending an arraignment hearing.
