Reese Olson tossed a gem, as the Tigers blanked the Padres 6-0 yesterday. Olson pitched into the eighth inning, giving up just two hits. Justyn-Henry Malloy had a home run and an RBI double. Gleyber Torres and Dillon Dingler also homered.
The Tigers have today off, and begin a home set against the Orioles tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 6:15 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers fell 4-2 to the Giants last night. Freddy Peralta pitched five shutout innings, but left as San Francisco scored all four of their runs in the sixth. After having been shut out through eight frames, Milwaukee threatened in the top of the ninth. Brice Turang’s bases-loaded ground rule double plated two runs, but Jackson Chourio struck out, and Christian Yelich’s infield grounder ended the game.
The Brewers conclude that series at San Francisco this afternoon. Tobias Myers will return from the injured list to start against Landen Roupp.

NFL
The NFL draft begins with round one tonight. The Titans are expected to take Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the first pick. The Bears have the 10th selection. The Packers pick 23rd, the Vikings 24th, and the Lions 28th.
Rounds two and three take place tomorrow night, with the remaining four rounds on Saturday.
NFL Hall of Famer Steve McMichael has died. McMichael played 13 seasons in Chicago, led the Bears’ defense when they won the Super Bowl in 1985, and is second on the team’s all-time career sacks list. He played his final season in Green Bay. McMichael had been battling Lou Gehrig’s disease. He was 67.
