Summer is coming to a close. But Hancock wants to celebrate the season one last time. Next week the city will host its annual end of summer celebration. Bringing the community together on 9-0-6 day for some fun games and activities, tournaments, food, and dancing.
We do a lot of celebrations here in the city of Hancock and this is just our big finale of all of those celebrations all in one. We’ve got uh tons of kids games for all ages. So pickleball tournaments, cornhole tournaments, a kid privilege tournament. Then plus the little ones, we got bouncy houses. – Todd Gast, DDA Coordinator, City of Hancock
Hancock DDA Coordinator Todd Gast says the event was plenty of fun throughout the entire day. Allowing families, residents, and visitors the opportunity to explore new things happening in the city.
If they’re spending the entire day, they may want to go and visit a restaurant or go get a cup of coffee or from one of our cafes. There are just other things and shops at our local shops. So, there’s just a lot of things that happen when you bring people to town. And so that’s what our whole objective is, it is getting the foot traffic and getting people to get used to all the wonderful things that we have here in the city of Hancock. – Todd Gast, DDA Coordinator, City of Hancock
Throughout the day end of summer celebration will host tournaments, and activities. Some will require participants to register such as pickleball.
We want to get certain number of teams. So, we have a men’s division, women’s division and a 75 plus division. So, we’re going to coordinate and bracket everything. – Todd Gast, DDA Coordinator, City of Hancock
The Hancock fire department will also join the fun and sponsor the street dance in the evening with Chad Borgan and the Collective.
So excited for our city of Hancock fire department. They’ll be hosting our beer tent and our street dance, which is featuring the music of Chad Borgen and the collective, a real big favorite of our community. – Todd Gast, DDA Coordinator, City of Hancock
