When people think of career and technical education, many think about students exploring careers in construction, automotive fields or nursing. But a new collaboration between the Copper Country ISD, Breakwater Federal Credit Union and the Michigan SBDC will develop a new fair for students to explore careers in business, finance and marketing. In March, the collaborative effort will bring the CTE Business and Entrepreneurship Fair to students. The event will include a business pitch competition, a simulated business workshop and opportunities for students to connect with local businesses and community partners. During a recent classroom visit to KBOCC, Breakwater’s Kayleigh White shared insight into the intricacies of public relations and best practices, helping students write example press releases. The Entrepreneurship Fair’s organizers have begun working out details for the event expected to take place in March.
