Local Hockey
The Ahmeek Ice Rink will host a 3v3 fundraiser Saturday. Action starts at 11 for players 10 and under, with times for 18U and 16U players later in the day. Jim’s Pizza will be available by the slice to raise money to support rink operations. No advance registration is necessary – you can sign up Saturday at the rink.

College Basketball
Both Michigan Tech basketball teams compete at Purdue Northwest tonight.
Both Northern Michigan squads play at Wayne State.
NHL
The Red Wings are off until February 26th because of the Olympics break.
NBA
The short-handed Pistons dispatched the Raptors 116-95 last night. Cade Cunningham scored 28 points, and Tobias Harris had 12 rebounds.
The Pistons visit the Knicks tonight. Coverage will begin at 7:05 on 99.3 The Lift.
Detroit was short-handed because two players were suspended by the NBA for their parts in Monday’s melee with the Hornets. Jalen Duren will sit for two games as one of the instigators. Isaiah Stewart will be out for seven games for leaving the bench to enter the fray. League officials also noted that his suspension was longer because of previous infractions. Charlotte’s Miles Bridges and Moussa Diabate were both hit with four-game suspensions.
The Bucks defeated the Magic 116-108 last evening. Cam Thomas came off the bench to score 34 points.
The Bucks visit the Thunder this evening.
MLB
Catcher Gary Sánchez is returning to the Brewers. Sánchez backed up William Contrereas in Milwaukee in 2024, then suffered through an injury-plagued 2025 season with the Orioles.
