Michigan State Police announced the promotion of Jonathan Morrison to the rank of sergeant at the St. Ignace post.
Morrison began his service with Michigan State Police in 2014 following his graduation from the 127th trooper recruit school. Since then, he has been a dedicated team member of the St. Ignace post.
In his position, Morrison has worked with the UPSET enforcement team in the eastern Upper Peninsula and has served as a defensive driving instructor and field training officer.
The promotion is the latest in recent Michigan State Police leadership changes across Upper Peninsula posts. In February, the agency promoted two troopers to post commander positions, including Calumet native First Lieutenant Greg Primeau to post commander in Iron Mountain and another trooper with more than 10 years of service to Gladstone post commander.
