A Houghton County man was sentenced Monday for aggravated stalking after he failed to return to jail following a medical furlough.
Keith Allen Harri received a sentence of 38 months to five years in jail during his appearance in Houghton County 12th Circuit Court. Prosecutor Dan Helmer said Harri did not appear at sentencing voluntarily.
Harri was supposed to return to jail after his medical appointment on April 10 but failed to do so. The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office tracked him down seven days after his release and returned him to the Houghton County Jail on April 17.
A bench warrant was issued for Harri’s arrest after the medical provider contacted the jail to schedule a new appointment with him.
Harri was sentenced for aggravated stalking, while a domestic violence offense in the case was dropped. He was ordered to pay $326 in court fines and was credited with 80 days already served.
