Close to one year later, the Keweenaw Heartlands Forest Fund has raised half of the campaign’s goal.
In July 2025, the Keweenaw Community Foundation partnered with The Nature Conservancy to manage the Keweenaw Heartlands Forest Fund campaign. The special project fund was established as a source to support local management practices in the forest, sustainable access to the land and water, and ensure the long-term care of more than 20,000 acres in Keweenaw County.
Now, about a year later, the campaign has raised $324,000.
In June, The Nature Conservancy will hold the “For the Heartlands” fundraiser dinner and concert to further support the Forest Fund. The evening expects to bring together many people from the Copper Country in support of the Keweenaw heartlands.
During the event, attendees will share a delicious meal at the Hidden Pines Barn in Calumet, with special musical guests The Go Rounds, who recently performed at the Calumet Theatre.
Tickets for the event on June 5 will cost $125. The Nature Conservancy and Keweenaw Community Foundation also seek sponsors for the event.
