Bridge inspections will cause some traffic delays across the region over the next few days.
Michigan Department of Transportation says the routine inspections will begin tomorrow, with flag operators controlling traffic.
Weather permitting, here is the schedule:
- Friday, June 5: M-26 bridge over Eagle River, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Saturday, June 6: M-64/M-38 bridge over the Ontonagon River, River Road has path closures from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., then shoulder closures from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Monday, June 8: M-38 bridge over Firesteel River, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Tuesday, June 9: US-45 bridge over the East Branch of the Ontonagon River, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Wednesday, June 10: M-28 bridge over the Ontonagon River, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Thursday, June 11: US-41 bridge over the Sturgeon River, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
MDOT says the inspections are needed to help keep bridges safe and reliable.
