MLB
Kevin McGonigle’s two-run single in the bottom of the ninth gave the Tigers a 5-4 walk-off win over the Mariners yesterday. McGonigle homered earlier in the game, and Wenceel Pérez hit a two-run triple. Jack Flaherty gave up a run over five innings, then was charged with two more as he left during the sixth. Will Vest got the win in relief.
The Tigers have today off, and host the Twins tomorrow. Troy Melton will start against Taj Bradley. Coverage will begin at 6:15 on 99.3 The Lift.
The Brewers blasted the Rockies 12-4 yesterday. Milwaukee plated seven runs in the sixth inning to break the game open. Gary Sánchez had a double and a home run. Shane Drohan pitched into the seventh, gave up three runs, and earned the win.
After scoring 28 runs in their three-game sweep of the Rockies, the Brewers visit the Athletics tonight. Kyle Harrison will pitch against Jeffrey Springs.
