South Range rings in the Fourth of July with a full day of community celebration this year. With the nation marking its 250th anniversary, the holiday carries added meaning.
The day opens with a flag raising ceremony honoring veterans and military members, hosted by the VFW and Fire Department. Families can then explore the Copper Range Museum, take part in games and races, and enjoy live music throughout the day.
Community volunteer Mike Renier said the park will be packed with activities for kids.
“There will be prizes for children. And the fun in the park will have games and different things — like bouncy houses for children,” Renier said.
The afternoon brings a kids bike parade followed by the annual Fourth of July parade. The evening closes with a fireworks show.
