MLB
The Tigers were held to just two hits in a 5-0 loss to the Phillies yesterday. Tarik Skubal gave up a run in the third, then left after giving up a leadoff single in the sixth. Keider Montero relieved him, as Philly scored four times.
The Brewers dropped an ugly 15-4 decision to the Pirates yesterday. Robert Gasser struggled, giving up four runs in the second inning, and departing as Pittsburgh plated 10 runs in the fourth. Brice Turang homered.
Milwaukee will be without starter Brandon Woodruff for the foreseeable future. He’s been transferred to the 60-day injured list because of a recurrence of the shoulder problem that required major surgery a couple of years ago. The Brewers have also designated outfielder Greg Jones for assignment, and sent pitchers Garrett Stallings and Coleman Crow to Nashville. And, Milwaukee added some infield depth by purchasing the contract of Braden Shewmake from the Astros.
The All-Star break begins today. The Home Run Derby will be staged tonight. The All-Star Game will be played tomorrow.

The local Shottle Bop team won their second straight title at the 68th annual International Frisbee Tournament yesterday in Hancock. They rallied to take the final two sets, and reclaim the Julius T. Nachazel Cup. Will Blau was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. Wolfpack finished third, and Boomtown fourth.
