Lake Linden-Hubbell’s football team remained unbeaten with a 44-27 victory over North Central Saturday. Each team scored on its first two possessions – the Lakes on a 28-yard Tyler Axford run and a 33-yard Brady to Tyler Axford pass. Lake Linden converted both two-point attempts, while North Central made one of two extra-point kicks, giving the Lakes a 16-13 advantage. After 93-yard Brady touchdown run was called back because of a penalty, the Lakes began to establish some separation. Brady dashed 62 yards for a touchdown on the next possession. The Jets answered, and again narrowed the gap to three points, but Lake Linden found the end zone again in the closing seconds of the first half with a 35-yard Brady to Tyler scoring pass, and adjourned to the locker room with a 28-19 halftime advantage. They widened the margin on the opening drive of the second half, capped by a one-yard Blake Lebo TD plunge. A final score by the Jets late in the third quarter narrowed the gap back to nine points, but the Lakes put the game away with a 16-yard Brady touchdown run.
Brady finished with 222 yards rushing on 27 attempts for two touchdowns and three two-point conversions. He completed six of seven passes for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Tyler ran for 115 yards on nine attempts for one touchdown. Hear the game replay here.
