Fall color season is nearly over, but the stunning vistas of the Keweenaw can still be viewed from Mont Ripley. Next weekend is the last chance the public has to ride the ski lifts at the ski hill to the summit and view Houghton, the Keweenaw Waterway, and Huron Mountains amidst many colors of trees.
Usually only open during the winter season, Mont Ripley, the ski area operated by Michigan Tech, offers the annual opportunity to locals and tourists alike to enjoy some fresh air and see Houghton from a new perspective. After taking photos and taking in the panoramic scenery, visitors can take the ski lift back down to the bottom of the hill.
This upcoming weekend is the last opportunity to take advantage of this experience, as Mont Ripley will be preparing for the ski season. Tickets are available on the Mont Ripley website or can be purchased on-site.
