November is quickly approaching, which means night parking bans will be enforced. From Nov. 1 through Apr. 30, parking on the side of any street or in any public parking facility is prohibited between the hours of 2:00 and 7:00 a.m., in order to facilitate the removal of snow during the winter season.
For example, the City of Houghton reminded its residents this week. The fee for violation is $35, plus towing and storage fees and any outstanding parking offenses. Citizens of Houghton and the immediate surrounding area are encouraged to look into alternate parking solutions for their vehicles that may need a place to be stored temporarily.
