Offering opportunities to young people to explore talents, passions, and careers in the community can help students develop lifelong knowledge and skills. The UP Michigan Works recently announced an exciting opportunity for students in the region through three UPMW Hubs in Houghton Delta and Chippewa counties.
The event aims to connect youth with local businesses and encourage students to start exploring careers early with real-world experience through apprenticeships. The apprenticeships open house on April 30th next Wednesday will take place in Hancock at the Hancock Community Hub on the third floor. The other hubs on Wednesday will be set up in Escanaba and Sault Ste Marie. UP Michigan Works says apprenticeships will seek candidates between 16 and 24 years old.
