The big festival of fun is finally coming to town. The Houghton county fair officially opens tonight. The exhibitors barn will open, as will the first of the animal auctions. Families will enjoy Skerbeck’s many fun carnival rides. A couple might win a giant teddy bear at coin toss. And kids can meet a range of animals at the whispering pines traveling zoo. The Houghton County fair has a lot of fun for the entire copper country to enjoy. From fun fair food to entertaining shows in the arena. Such as tonight’s kick off with Motorcross. The fair will open at 2 pm for the first animal auction, and the main causeway will open at 3 pm.
Tomorrow afternoon Copper Country Autism Awareness will have an opportunity to enjoy the fun at the fair without distracting lights and loud sounds. And in the afternoon the fair will host the senior luncheon and program inside the Houghton County Arena.
