The Michigan house of representatives passes a 78-billion-dollar budget to the senate for consideration. On Tuesday the state’s house passed a budget that will cut several million dollars across Michigan’s state departments. House republicans call the value for MI dollars budget a balanced and responsible plan to solve challenges for Michigan families and communities.
The budget bill was introduced by Representative Ann Bolin, who highlighted cutting ‘phantom employees’, programs such as SOAR, and eliminating state taxes on tips and overtime pay. The budget also appropriates 50 million dollars from the department of labor and economic opportunity to support the Wakefield township infrastructure improvement project.
