Michigan State Police Grants and Community Services Division will begin accepting applications for the programs supporting non-English speakers and disabled residents. The MSP GCSD division will accept applications from entities throughout Michigan who provide law enforcement training to support communication between law enforcement and non-English speakers and residents deaf or hard of hearing.
The state’s budget designates $450,000 to support programming and operations expenses. Col. James Grady II says effective communication is essential in policing, and adding valuable training opportunities equips officers with the tools to best serve the public and prevent dangerous misunderstandings.
The Michigan State Police Grants and Community Services Division will accept applications until April 1st. Find more details online.
