The Alfred Erickson American Legion Post will host its annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser Sunday, April 12, from noon to 4 p.m.
The $10 curbside pickup meals include spaghetti, fresh bread, coleslaw and a cookie. Veterans will direct traffic through the parking lot for pickup.
The fundraiser serves as the organization’s largest community support effort for veteran causes. Proceeds fund American Legion ceremonies performed at Memorial Day and Fourth of July events, the annual Copper Country Active Duty campaign and veteran funeral services.
The funds also support veteran involvement in Boys State, Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of the United States of America and the Legion baseball team.
Veterans service organizations play key roles in communities throughout the Upper Peninsula, with American Legion members helping perform formal ceremonies to honor veterans past, present and future.
