Tarik Skubal struck out 10, as the Tigers shut down the Red Sox 4-1 Saturday. Skubal gave up a run on four hits Saturday. Kerry Carpenter had two hits, including a home run, and also drew a walk to force in Detroit’s first run in the first inning.
Those teams play in Boston again this afternoon. Framber Valdez will start against Garrett Crochet. Game time has been pushed back because of bad weather in the Motor City, so coverage will begin at 4:10 on 99.3 The Lift.
Brandon Woodruff sparkled, as the Brewers outscored the Marlins 5-2. Woodruff turned in seven innings, allowing just one run on three hits. Brice Turang homered, and drove in three runs.
The Brewers play at Miami again this afternoon. Jacob Misiorowski will start against Eury Pérez.
After coming up to make a spot start Friday, Coleman Crow has been returned to Nashville. Reliever Carlos Rodriguez has been called up.
