The Keweenaw Outdoor Recreation Coalition will help The Nature Conservancy find community leaders for the future of the Keweenaw Heartlands. Next Wednesday, KORC will host a candidates forum at Horizons Alternative School in Mohawk.
The meeting will bring together Keweenaw County voters to meet and learn more about potential candidates considering leadership roles on the Keweenaw Heartlands Recreational and Natural Resources Authority Board.
The community will vote for five directors on the newly formed authority board to manage more than 20,000 acres of public land.
The candidates forum organized by KORC will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
